Common questions
Can we get CAT4 or IELTS practice for a whole year group?
Yes. Prepatest — the practice-test platform we built — works with schools, institutions and organizations on cohort pricing, which is meaningfully lower than buying individual test packages. Send us the exam, the level and the number of candidates and we will make sure it reaches the right place.
Do you build software for institutions, or resell someone else's?
We build. Every platform on our projects page was designed, built and is still maintained by us for a customer. If your requirement does not match something that already exists, we scope and build it — assessment delivery, scoring, reporting, billing, admin tools and Android apps.
How do we know whether it actually worked?
That is the question we design around. The platforms we build score performance under real conditions — timed papers, unfamiliar music at tempo — and break results down by skill rather than reporting a single percentage or a usage figure. For a cohort deployment we agree up front which measures you need to see, so the pilot either demonstrates improvement or tells you it did not.
How is student data handled?
We keep data collection to what a product actually needs. Overachiever stores everything on the device and shares nothing with third parties, and SightReadingTraining analyses microphone audio inside the browser without uploading or storing it. For institutional deployments we agree the data handling in writing before anything goes live.
Who do we talk to?
The people who build the software. Cognitima is a small, senior team — there is no account-management layer between you and the engineers.
